It’s unmistakably cold in so-cal, though today’s nice and toasty, a break from the frigid weather. Other than the constant reminder that it’s still winter, sunsets are still gorgeous. I did a shoot for Calvin a while back, and when he had asked to do a follow up, he came all prepped, with an outfit already picked out, ready to get that shoot on! Here are some of the pictures!
Happy New Years! I left my camera up in Irvine and… that set me back a few, but I think that just serves as a good reminder that my camera doesn’t brand me! Surprisingly, with only a kit 18-55mm lens in the back of my pocket, I found so much freedom in composition, not having to be constrained to the bounds of a fixed lens… though I had some issues with color and quality—it’s been a long time since I’ve worked with my old camera.
Personally, it was a great way to end winter break, going to the Salton Sea. Yeah, on one hand it was a much needed break from the mundaneness of Irvine and San Diego, but on the other hand, I very much enjoyed the company. Lots of laughs, lots of silence, lots of fellowship in experiencing the beauties of creation, phenomenal by the way—makes me feel small, but in a good way. But ultimately, the most rewarding portion of the trip was the time we spent with each other and I’m very thankful for that. You [guys], rock! I mean what’s a road trip without the meaningful talks?
